“hen-digi” is a coined term by lonestar, a webmaster of “hen-digi Kenkyusho“.
This word was taken from a sentence “Did you have ‘hen-digi””? which was told from his wife when they were go out. “kenkyusho” means “lab” in Japanese.
Also, “hen” means “strange” in Japanese, not a female chicken. “digi” is a abbreviation taken from a part of “digital camera”. “hen-digi” is similar to so-called “digital toy camera”.
Basically, “hen-digi” might have CMOS optical sensor. In many cases, motion is abnormally-slow, hard to focus on, and color is dull.
In Japan, “digital toy camera” as typified by VQ1005 of VistaQuest is called “toy-digi” for short. But this word “toy-digi” is kind of trendy and he didn’t like much. So he use the word “hen-digi”. So do I, & others.
